Beginners Training Courses.

Next years courses are starting to fill already, so book now to avoid disappointment.

Beginners Course

All archery clubs require you to have completed a Beginners Course (Basic Training) before you are allowed to join or even shoot in most cases. The course we run is accepted by all GNAS clubs across the whole of Britain.

Here at our award winning club you will be taught by a team of highly experienced and talented coaches in a friendly yet well structured manner

To join one of our beginners courses, please download and complete the following application form (word document) and return it. You can contact Phil here should you have any problems or queries

Beginners

Places are limited so it is a question of first come first served, places are only reserved on payment of a fee and written confirmation that you are allocated a place.

Courses are open to a wide range of people, any age over twelve, but children under fourteen must be accompanied by a parent or guardian whilst on club premises at all times. People with long hair, for safety reasons, should  tied it back. Earings should be removed prior to shooting and overly baggy clothing is not advised.

bc group

Courses are generally run over three consecutive Sundays commencing at 12 noon until about 5 o clock, all equipment including personal protective equipment is provided, tea and coffee is also freely available during the course, but you could consider bringing some food or snacks as it can be a long day. Oh and don’t forget some suntan lotion, being near the coast we do get some very warm hot days.

At the end of each session you will be given an opportunity to give feedback to the coaches about the days training and they in turn will confirm your progress to date and provide you with some paperwork to reinforce the information you were given verbally.

The Certificate

At the end of the three sessions, providing you have been making reasonable progress and putting into practice all you have been taught, you will receive the certificate of achievement that is recognised by all Archery GB (GNAS) clubs to show that you have undergone basic training and are safe to carry on developing your skills in the sport of target archery.

Prior to attending the course, you may wish to avail yourself of some useful reading material, please look at the INFORMATION page, as well as the rest of our website.

How To Join

Take a look at the list of course dates on offer, and only sign up if you can make all three consecutive dates, no refunds or certificates will be offered if you fail to attend one of your sessions. When you have decided which course is for you, download and complete the application form and send it along with your fee of £50 to the address at the bottom of this page. You will then receive a confirmatory letter to confirm your place on the requested course
